Personalizing the Celebration of Life For Your Loved One

Every service should be as unique as the life being celebrated.  Whether you choose burial or cremation, you can choose to hold many different types of services - a visitation, funeral service, witness cremation, graveside service, or a memorial service. Any of these can be personalized in a number of ways to honor your loved one.

Below are some of the many ways to personalize a service.  Your ideas for a special service are always welcome at Allen Brothers Mortuary.

Personalization of the funeral can be as simple or as elaborate as you choose. The options listed below are only suggestions; let us know if there are other choices you would like.  Whatever your preferences or ideas may be, Allen Brothers will work to help you create a memorable and meaningful tribute.

Allen Brothers Mortuary handles services for all faiths. We will coordinate with your church, synagogue or mosque and handle all the details based on your choices.

A service doesn't have to be religious in nature, nor does a clergy person have to be involved in the service. A service can consist of friends and family talking and sharing stories about the deceased.

The location can also help to make a service less formal; services may be held in our chapel or at a favorite location.

There are several options for music, including

  • organists
  • soloists
  • bag pipers
  • recorded music

We can arrange for the music that meets the needs of your family. We also have sound systems in each chapel if you prefer to provide your own music on CD.

Memory Table

Many families like to set up a memory table, memory board, and/or memory jar for the service.  A memory table can consist of favorite items of the deceased. The memory board is often a collection of pictures of the deceased through different stages of his or her life. It may also include pictures of their children, grandchildren and friends.  A memory jar can be placed on the table and include slips of paper for family and friends to write their memories of your loved for the family to read and treasure later.

Some families also choose to show a video that highlights memories of their loved one.  Allen Brothers Mortuary provides the equipment and a large screen television at no charge for our families. Simply bring your CD or DVD, let us know when you want it played, and our staff will handle the rest for you.

SALUTE    If your deceased loved one was a veteran, Allen Brothers Mortuary
   can coordinate
  • Military Honors services for all branches,
  • Secure a flag,
  • Request a Presidential Memorial Certificate,
  • Burial in a national cemetery,
  • And many other veteran options.

Personalized merchandise is also popular.

Some caskets include interchangeable corners, and you may choose corners that represent the life of your loved one. Caskets can also be personalized with an embroidered panel.

Cremation urns and keepsakes can be engraved.

There is also a wide variety of other merchandise such as keepsake jewelry, stationery products, and flag cases, from which you can choose that can help reflect the life of your loved one.

Allen Brothers Mortuary offers a complimentary on-line Eternal Memorial Tribute for your loved one that can be customized and shared with family and friends.  Families of Veterans may also choose our Military themed Eternal Memorial Tribute.  The Eternal Tribute goes beyond the obituary that may be printed in a newspaper, allowing families to come together across the miles, to relive special moments, and to celebrate the unique legacy of your loved one.

Once our staff sets up the page, you are given a private login and are in control of this page.  You choose the background, music, and theme, and can upload an unlimited number of photos.  You can create a lasting memorial obituary, with no limit on the number of words.  You can then choose to email family and friends directly from this page to welcome their thoughts and photos to add to this eternal tribute of your loved one.

Unlike newspaper tribute pages, this tribute is permanently available at no charge.
